  • Characteristics, types, metabolism, multiplication, survival.
  • Health problems caused by polluted drinking water.
  • Epidemiology of drinking water infections.
  • Risk assessment methods – applications – examples.
OUTCOME On completing the module trainees will be aware of the mechanisms that facilitate the spread of problem microorganisms in drinking and recreational waters, as well as the likely impact on public health. Will be able to apply Risk Assessment principles in real life situations.
